Live and undead from the Crypticon!
http://crypticonminneapolis.com/
I got to meet Tom Sullivan, the nicest special effects guy on the planet. He actually let me look at AND touch the fake Linda leg from the original Evil Dead. The one that gets a pencil in the achilles tendon. AWESOME!
Got to talk with Ken Foree about Devils Rejects, Devils Den (new film not out yet) and pornostar Marylin Chambers.
It's a trip to find out that all these people who make horrible disgusting violent films are incredile kind warm hearted down to earth folk. And this is just day 1 of 3. the next two days are going to rock socks if this is just a taste of things to come.
If you are in the Twin Cities area and want to see Summer School there is a special screening at 6pm Saturday the 16th. Only hitch is you have to have a day pass to get into the show.

FACED times 3!

quick note as its late and

quick note as its late and my bday so we went out to celebrate:

FUCK YOU MINNEAPOLIS! FUCK YOU STRAIGHT UP! Not the normal folk making a normal living and allowing others to live as they want to be treated. FUCK YOU TO THE FUCKING COCKLESS ASSHOLE SHITFACE WHO STOLE OUR DVX! You worthless waste of air.... what the fuck are you going to do with our camcorder? HUH? Fucking film you and your crack whore trying to find a clean vein on your diseased scabbed arms? FUCK YOU! If anybody ever sees a DVX being handled by a complete fucktard punch them in the face. We haven't even technically paid the thing off yet and its gone. Hopefully we can find the booklet with the serial code for the camera. That way we can legal take it back from any pawnshop that actually buys it off this asshole who jacked it. The same worthless shit stole Mike's Mom's digital camera. Thanks dick.

Convention wise: AWESOME! Tom Sullivan is still the coolest fucking guy. He signed my books of the dead DVDs and a Evil Dead book I also had in my bag. Check this though, the dude was carrying a copy of Within The Woods. For those of you who don't know what that is; consider it Evil Dead Lite. It was the 8mm film Sam Raimi made to get investors in the original Evil Dead. Since Tom did the FX for it he had a copy and I got TO WATCH IT! YEAH FINALLY HAPPY FUCKING BIRTHDAY TO BEN! The screening of Summer School went alright. Bad compression/dvd player made the sound pop and look funky at times but everybody who stuck with it was ear to ear smiles when we did a little Q&A at the end. Sunday's the last day so we'll see what happens.

Day 3 was more lax than

Day 3 was more lax than anything. Atleast in terms of new people showing up. The amount of people who came up to the table to tell us they either liked, enjoyed, or flat out loved Summer School was awesome. We all at RCFF really appreciate your kind words. And if you are checking out the site for the first time because of the con: WELCOME! THANKS FOR COMING!
Mike got to ask a burning question at the Devils Rejects Q&A and even talked to Sid Haig about Jack Hill's The Host. Apparently Sid's making a documentary about Mr. Hill. Should be interesting and I guarantee Mike will hunt it down.
Tom Sullivan was actually impressed by an effect I did in Summer School when he was passing by during the day. That's an awesome feeling. Got to see him and Ellen Sandweiss do a Q&A after Evil Dead. Also sweet. Lance checked out the Q&A with Kane Hodder after Jason X .Kane wanted them to show Part 7 but whatcha gonna do eh?
It was a nice way to wind down the Con. Hopefully the Crypticon continues to grow and get better. I know I'll be going back next year! Hell, if Summer School gets any type of cult following I will try to make it to any convention that invites me. They are really fun and all the people are super nice.
I'll let the other guys fill in their experiences now.

Other than getting the DVX

Other than getting the DVX stolen, Crypticon weekend was fantastic! I got to meet some of my favorite horror celebs and get autographs! (Pics below) We also got to screen Summer School on Saturday. We got a amazing respose from the audience during the Cast and Crew Q&A. On Sunday, we had several people commend us on the film and ask when they could buy a copy of it! Special thanks to special effects artist Christian Hanson for checking out the film and supporting the company. Also huge thanks to Crypticon dealer Jim Garr for checking out the film and his honest critique of the film. Also a huge shout out to Sean and Rob who watched and talked to use about the film. Thanks so much.

that's only because so many

that's only because so many of these men are monsters; literally. i know the con was a week ago but this is my two cents. the whole thing was great, i want to give a shout out to tom schroeder and his crew. they were at the table next to us promoting thier own film The Thirsting. Good luck to them and thier project. i just want to touch on two things, one, Kane Hodder is now my new hero. The man doesn't mince words but he is still very approachable. i think he seriously got screwed on the jason v freddy deal, no one, and i mean no one stalks like kane does in the jason mask. two, the young star reporter that was at the kane q and a and went on to talk to mike and ben about the whole con was a super cutie. she was the kind of young women you look at and your heart just melts, on the off chance she reads this, you should email me, maybe we can go out for drinks.
